Masinagudi Days- Travelbird team at the Blue Valley Jungle Resort, Masinagudi, South India
If you start by road from Bengaluru or Mysore it wonтЂ™t give much of a headache to locate this place, just follow the sign boards indicating Ooty till you reach Bandipur Wildlife Sanctuary. From there move ahead to Muthumalai Wildlife Sanctuary and once you reach there take the left turn, which go straight to Masinagudi, 7 Km away from Muthumalai sanctuary. Almost all the resorts are located at Masinagudi, even though the addresses of the resorts were mentioned as in Muthumalai. On January 12th 2009, when the evening sun was getting ready to go down at the Bandipur wildlife range, we were cruising through the forest in a minimal speed, between 40 - 45 Km. We scanned all the corners of the forest to see any visible animal movements and at last we ended up right in front of a herd of wild bisons. With anger and surprise at the presence of strangers they paused and stared at us but slowly disappeared in to the virgin greens.
By 6.30 pm we reached Masinagudi, the land which had fascinated me all the years. It was cool, calm and serene, just true to its name. In the twilight of the evening we witnessed the calm village life through the windshields of our vehicle and got the guidance from a village shop to reach our destination тЂ“ The Blue Valley Resort.
