Goldtrail Holidays - collapse leaves travellers in chaos!

Last week we heard about the collapse of the well known travel company GoldTrail which has now left thousands of travellers to Greece and Turkey in total chaos again.

Most of those who are stuck abroad or having to travel with this company would be covered by bonds from (Atol) or Abta. Which means that the Atol bond of ВЈ2.50, which every tourist pays when buying a holiday from GoldTrail will now help them get home and help them avoid having to fork any extra costs.

But because of the type of problem things could get delayed and may who have booked via a credit card would be advised to chase they credit card company for a refund.

People stranded abroad are panicing and worried as they cannot get back. One said "Holiday from hell: Angry British tourists in the Turkish resort of Marmaris".

Currently there is a reported 16,000 people who are and were stuck abroad, and a further 60,000 had booked holidays to Greece and Turkey with Goldtrail.

However, Atol is acting fast and now about 10,000 of the 16,000 families are now back in the UK. The rest are simply spending they booked holiday before getting back with an alternative flight.

Part of the Atol scheme guarantees that families should be able to complete a holiday they have started when their travel company goes bust.

However, those who have booked a holiday but not yet travelled will not be getting more money for a last minute trip. They can only get an equivalent to what they have paid for their current holiday which in most cases will not be enough as prices are usually higher when booking last minute.

Whatever you decide to do with your holiday budget we would advise that you travel somewhere else, less caotic and on a budget to avoid paying higher fees. Some of Europes destinations offer bargain deals that could even leave you with cash left over. Such destinations are Bulgaria and Croatia. They both offer great atmosphere, lively nightlife, tasty food and intresting culture and not to mention the clean long stretches of gold sandy ebaches that are visited by the Brits every year.

Some o f the top resorts include:; Sunny Beach in Bulgaria, Golden Sands in Bulgaria and Pula and Split in Croatia.

For further information on GoldTrail you can visit their website or simply look for an alternative holiday online that would insure you still have a great holiday abroad, enjoy sun and party as much as you like. You must look at the bright site and yes there is one! Greece is very expensive on many aspects such as food, transport, water sports, even nighlife bar entries. Turkey on the other hand may not seem as welcoming to some рЂ“ the culture is quite strict at times and you may get a few stares if you act a bit unappropriately or dress too revealing.

This is why we recommend Bulgaria and Croatia as you can feel comfortable and at ease for a fraction of the price and will certainly get the same quility and if not better.

For Holidays to Bulgaria you can book with Balkan Holidays.

How to save money on your holiday to London

While an eternally fashionable destination, London is also one of the most expensive places to go on holiday, be it a long weekend or a longer stay. So if you"re looking to save as much money as possible, one of the best things to do is to draw up an itinerary of your trip before you go away, and stick to it. Set yourself a budget for each day, and remember to include the cost of food and travel in your itinerary. Research accommodation and sight-seeing tours before you leave, as you may end up paying more for them once you arrive in the UK"s capital City. When it comes to accommodation, it"s best to have a friend who lives in London already, who you can stay with for free, but if you"re not lucky enough to have a Londoner in your circle of friends, stick to familiar hotel chains, you"ll find that they often do great deals online, so check their website well in advance of your travel date to see what"s on offer.
